Process of conveying information between individual or group to reach a common understanding. It is one of the important leadership skills.


Communication Planning

To begin a communication, planning is needed and the following factor is needed to consider:

  1. Medium of communication
  2. Time of communication
  3. Venue of communication
  4. Purpose of message
  5. Receiver of message


Coach

Coach is a person who shows others how to improve themselves


Mentor

Mentor is similar to coach. While coaching is temporary, mentor is long-term.


Conflict

Conflict can be managed by 5 different style which are

  1. Accommodating - concerning other's need
  2. Forcing - concerning own's need
  3. Avoiding - having low concern on everyone's need
  4. Collaborating - having high concern on everyone's need
  5. Negotiating - both party gain some concern and lose some concern


Mediator

A neutral third party help the both party to solve a conflict.


Arbitrator

Decision making party when the conflict can not be resolved by mediator.
